Ariene Susui is indigenous from the Wapishana people (Truaru indigenous community), in the Brazilian state of Roraima.
She has been active since the age of 14 in the indigenous movement for the participation of young people and women in political, environmental and education discussions.
She holds a degree in Social Communication-Journalism from the Federal University of Roraima and a Masters in Communication from the Graduate Program in Communication at the Federal University of Roraima.
She worked as a communications advisor for the Indigenous Council of Roraima and as a communication technician for the Coordination of Indigenous Organizations of the Brazilian Amazon (Coiab). She currently works as an independent journalist with focus on the Amazon.
