Dr. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava is the Chief of Disaster Risk Reduction at ESCAP. He leads analytical policy research on disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation for intergovernmental processes and national strategies.
Previously, he served as ESCAP Regional Adviser on Disaster Risk Reduction, Head of SAARC Disaster Management Centre, and Scientist/Engineer and Deputy Project Director at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
He holds a Ph.D. in Remote Sensing (IARI, New Delhi) and has authored over 150 publications, including key UN and WMO reports.
