The National Geographic magazine has been a nonprofit publication since inception in 1888, but that ends today.
After 127 years as a nonprofit publication, the National Geographic magazine has joined Rupert Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox as a part of a newly expanded joint venture reports the Guardian.
The long-running American publication's nonprofit status will be abandoned after the $725 million dollar deal announced today.
Murdoch is a notorious climate change denier, and his family's Fox media empire is a primary source of global warming misinformation, such as The Times that had manufactured an unfounded climate change conspiracy theory, unveiled by the Guardian last year.
Concerns raise further by the fact that the National Geographic Society's mission includes giving grants to scientists. No need to argue that the nature of these grants will change.
This video interview with Murdoch provides the climate deniers' Freudian insight - or should we say his two cents or more so three cents - on climate change. There, he points out that the worst scenarios on world's temperature rise will be up to three CENTS, sorry three percent, sorry three centigrade celsius.
Indeed, come on, three cents per 21st Century Fox stock - that's nothing, no?
